In order to reach the largest possible number of people, the University for Peace will offer a number of courses via correspondence. Our courses readers are written and taught by highly skilled academics and professionals from around the world. As a distance learning student, you can expand your knowledge; move forward in your career; or start working on your MA degree in Peace and Conflict studies.

UPEACE Correspondence is a method of learning that provides lessons and exercises either through mail or email to nonresident participants outside the main campus in Costa Rica. After completion, these lessons will be emailed back for analysis, criticism and grading by selected UPEACE faculty. The professor responsible for the course is available through email for questions, comments and guidance. As such, the participants are required to have internet access.

UPEACE is a partner of the Peace Operations Training Institute (POTI) which has extensive experience in offering certificated distance learning for peacekeepers and others interested in the field of peacekeeping. All participants in these courses receive Certificates of Completion upon successfully completing an online examination. UPEACE and POTI are working to evaluate these courses for potential UPEACE accreditation.

POTI offer over twenty specialized courses. For list of courses see http://www.peaceopstraining.org/courses
