Hassan El Menyawi

Current Position within UPEACE Hassan El Menyawi is currently Assistant Professor at the United Nations University for Peace, teaching "Public International Law," "International Organizations," "Human Rights," and "HIV/AIDS and Human Rights." Before this, he was Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School. Hassan El Menyawi has obtained an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, an LL.B. (i.e., common law) and B.C.L. (i.e., civil law) from McGill Law School, and a B.Sc. in psychology from McGill Law School. He is the Co-founder and Associate Editor of the "Muslim World Journal of Human Rights", published by Berkeley Press. His areas of interest include international law, contract law, constitutional law, Islamic legal theory, jurisprudence, human rights, international design, international organizations, Islamic theory, Islamic law, Islamic history, political theory, sociology and the law, and social theory.M
