Joint Master's Degree Program in Sustainable Peace through SportProgramme conducted in partnership with Peace and Sport, L'Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport and International University of Monaco (IUM) This Master's degree is a multidisciplinary programme which seeks to educate and train graduate students to harness the potential of sport for building and promoting sustainable peace across the globe. The new programme will enhance student ability to design programmes and policies to help fight against poverty, support sustainable peace in post-conflict areas, and nurture social cohesion. In addition, it will provide a comprehensive understanding of the value of sport as a tool for social development and education for peace. Courses will be taken at IUM in Monaco and through UPEACE's online platform. Why a Masters in Sustainable Peace through Sport? This program is the result of a partnership between three institutions that have established a solid expertise in their respective fields. Monaco-based, Peace and Sport is an institution that puts the values of sport at the service of peace and spearheads various projects around the world. "This programme will lead to the genesis of a body of trained and competent 'Engineers for Peace through Sport' able to make peace through sport a reality. I am proud that the Principality of Monaco, the cradle of so many sports and humanitarian events, is host to such an innovative Master's degree". Candidates Profile The IUM/UPEACE joint Master in Sustainable Peace through Sport program is addressed mainly to two groups of candidates: students who have completed an accredited bachelor's degree program and preferably possess relevant professional experience. English proficiency is a must. "At the University for Peace, we are pleased to be a partner in this exciting new program. We are convinced that sport can be a key element in attracting young people to participate in positive ways in their communities, and ultimately to build or reinforce peace".
