UN Officials in Residence ProgrammeThe University for Peace (UPEACE), recognizing the essential role of UN officials in the pursuit of peace, is offering a flexible program for diplomats between assignments who wish to spend a period of time in residence at the UPEACE campus in Costa Rica. Programme Description: The "UN officials in Residence Programme" offers UN personnel who are between assignments an enriching experience by actively participating in an intellectual setting, either by attending interesting classes that have to do with their work or by contributing with their experience in many different ways. Methodology: UN Officials assigned by their agencies or participating as individuals in a UPEACE programme can come to the University at any time during the academic year that runs from mid-August to mid-May, to attend selected courses relevant to their area of interest. UN Officials may be asked to present case studies to the regular UPEACE students based on their experience. The participants may also undertake research projects while participating in the programme. UN Officials will be under the supervision of a resident senior Professor during their period at UPEACE. This will allow them to attain their objectives and expectations. Each participant will have their programme tailor-made according to their objectives. Sponsoring UN Agencies or individual course-takers will be expected to cover the expenses of their studies, including tuition, travel, room and board. UN officials can come for our full year Master's degree (MA) program, or they can take any portion of that program, or even just one specific course. Their presence would be an asset for us, and we believe they will benefit highly from their experience at UPEACE. Courses For more information on this programme please contact: Christer Persson
