UPEACE recommends students to live in Ciudad Colón while studying at UPEACE. Ciudad Colón is the nearest population centre to UPEACE Campus, 7 ½ Kilometers south east of El Rodeo de Mora, where UPEACE is located.
The Department of Academic Administration (DAA) assists student in finding suitable housing before their arrival to Ciudad Colon. The following options may be available

1. Home Stays

   A room may be available to the student for a monthly rent starting at US$ 250 per month, including two meals a day (breakfast and dinner), cleaning of the room and laundry. All rooms offered have been previously visited and approved by the DAA.
   Students will receive the information with enough time in advance before they travel to Costa Rica. The official language of Costa Rica is Spanish, and, although many people speak English, due to the largely developed tourist sector, it would be difficult to find families that speak English in Ciudad Colon for student accommodation purposes.

2. Apartments

   Several options may be available at a variety of prices, depending on student needs and preferences. In some cases, water and electricity bills may be included.
   Prices start at US$ 250 monthly up to any cost depending on what the place has to offer and the included services.
   Students should sign a contract with the owner and pay a deposit equivalent to a monthly rent. This deposit is refundable upon termination of the contract, once the owner has verified that there are no pending bills.
