The University for Peace, and the German International Cooperation agency (GIZ) will work together in the regional project "Regional International Law and Access to Justice in Latin America", through the organization of a series of international seminars, roundtables and workshops, to ponder on the quality standards and indicators on access to justice in Latin America. For this purpose two international seminars have been organized, some tables for dialog and working groups. These enable the analysis of quality standards and at the same time design or use indicators on the access to justice in Latin America. Both seminars will present an initial core document on the subject, which allows an exchange of ideas, concepts, analysis and information between different academics, judges and representatives of civil society, entities and institutions linked to national and international justice.

The University for Peace will organize two seminars:  one in Costa Rica – at its headquarters – during this seminar the cases of the Central American region will be analyzed with the participation of experts from Central America, Mexico, Dominican Republic and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights among others. This seminar will take place on Thursday 25 September 2014.  The second seminar will take place in Colombia on Friday 31 October 2014.  This seminar will study the cases of South America with the participation of the General Secretariat of the Andean Community, Colombia, Peru, and the Andean Commission of Jurists.
