These portals include virtual communities focused on key development issues, online tenders for government contracts around the world, and directories of development projects. The Development Gateway Foundation uses powerful and affordable information and communication technologies to increase knowledge sharing, enhance development effectiveness, Improve public sector transparency, and build local capacity to empower communities.
CIPE's Executive Director John Sullivan stated that he "looked forward to strengthening the Development Gateway's library of resources with contributions from CIPE and its global network of political and economic reformers. We appreciate the Development Gateway's interest in featuring more perspectives from the developing world and materials in more languages to directly benefit those working to improve the political and economic institutions necessary for sustainable development."
