Location: UPEACE Campus, Costa Rica.

Educating for the 21st Century

Location: Costa Rica (June 20 - 27, 2010)

Course: Educating for the XXI CenturyThe world is changing at an extremely rapid pace, affecting the essence of how we learn, interact, and work. As educators, can we create learning experiences to equip our students for a future that is constantly changing? This week-long course is designed for educators working in formal and informal settings, within institutions and in grassroots community contexts. The Earth Charter will be presented and discussed as a unique educational framework for helping build a more sustainable, peaceful and just global community.

The course is designed to be practical and hands-on, with space for sharing and reflection. The mornings will be typically spent on the campus of the University for Peace, complemented by afternoon fieldtrips. The course will travel to the most scenic cloudforest region of Monteverde for the last couple of days of the course.  Enrollment is limited to just 18 participants. All participants will be awarded a certificate from UPEACE upon completion of the course.
