50th Geneva Graduate Study Programme

BACK

12 July 2012

Location: Geneva, Switzerland.

Vice-Rector Amr Abdalla presented UPEACE at the 50th Geneva Graduate Study Programme (GSP) held annually at the United Nations Office at Geneva for students currently enrolled in a graduate institution.

This year’s GSP theme was "Opportunities and challenges in a world of 7 billion". Dr. Abdalla addressed 84 students, from 23 to 35 years of age, coming from 51 countries, in a lecture on ‘Introduction to Peace and Conflict Studies’.

The students were then requested to form working groups to discuss and present successes and challenges in resolving conflicts from their own cultural and national contexts.

This was Dr. Abdalla’s 4th time in Geneva at the UN GSP programme presenting UPEACE, and feedback from the organizers confirms that this session is always extremely appreciated by the GSP students and highly valued by the United Nations Information Service in Geneva which organizes the Graduate Study Programme.
