University for Peace awards Honorary Degree to Mr. Yohei Sasakawa.

The University for Peace (UPEACE) today awarded an honorary degree of Doctor in Humane Letters to Mr. Yohei Sasakawa, Chairman of the Nippon Foundation, for his worldwide leadership role in the fight against leprosy and the stigmas unfairly associated with the disease.

UN DELEGATIONS WOMENS CLUB LAUNCHES INITIATIVE IN SUPPORT OF UPEACE

The UN Delegations Women's Club (UNDWC) has launched a project known as WOMEN for PEACE for promoting participation of women, particularly young women, in peace processes, and strengthening of their influence in the construction of cultures of peace. The project was successfully launched at a special multi-cultural event held at the United Nations General Assembly Hall on 11 March 2008 which reflected diverse world cultures to celebrate the 2008 International Women's Day.

CALL FOR PAPERS - Africa Peace and Conflict Journal

The Africa Peace and Conflict Journal seeks to provide a vehicle for African scholars, and those focusing on Africa, to publish their views on issues of peace and conflict affecting the continent.

The APCJ deals with peace and conflict issues from a multi-disciplinary, and distinctly African perspective. Researchers from across disciplines are invited to submit papers, book reviews and briefings for publication. The APCJ will endeavour to publish reviews reflecting a diversity of topics and a diversity of approaches.
