Last September 9th the University for Peace received the third accreditation of its academic history for its programmes MA in International Law and Human Rights and MA in International Law and the Settlement of Disputes. The institution in charge was the Costa Rican National System of Higher Education Accreditation (SINAES).
The event was held on the Rodrigo Carazo Odio campus of the University for Peace and was led by Dr. Francisco Rojas Aravena, Rector of the University, Dr. Gilberto Alfaro Varela, Executive Director of SINAES, M.Ed. Josefa Leon Guzman, SINAES Board Member, Dr. Mihir Kanade, Head of the International Law Department, Suzanne Fischel Alumna and student representative and Jorge Cáceres Prendes, External Evaluator.
This is an important recognition to the efforts of managers, teachers and students of the University for Peace who, with their commitment and dedication, have made this a high quality program.
In his speech Dr. Francisco Rojas Aravena, Rector of the institution, thanked the students who are the reason why the program and the University received this distinction. He also made a detailed emphasis on the importance of this recognition for UPEACE and emphasized its commitment to human rights, education and world peace.
The students that attended the event were very pleased with this recognition and expressed the pride of being active participants in a University in the service of social transformation, concerned about the establishment and maintenance of world peace and that now holds accreditation in four of its Programmes
