8 de febrero de 2019 – San José, Costa Rica. Estudiantes de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali, Colombia, completaron hoy los cursos correspondientes al Mes Javeriano en el Campus Rodrigo Carazo de la Universidad para la Paz (UPAZ) en Costa Rica.
Todos los años durante los meses de enero y febrero, en el marco de cooperación que desarrollan la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali y la Universidad para la Paz, se celebra en el campus de la UPAZ en San José, Costa Rica el Mes Javeriano, durante el cual se ofrece un curso de tres semanas a estudiantes y profesores de la Universidad colombiana. El curso representa un total de 6 créditos académicos, válidos para los estudiantes de la Universidad Javeriana y que podrán ser igualmente utilizados por estos estudiantes si desean continuar sus estudios en la Universidad para la Paz a través de las modalidades previstas en el convenio de cooperación, como son el Título Conjunto en Derechos Humanos y Cultura de Paz o la compleción de alguno de los programas regulares de Maestría que ofrece la UPAZ. Los temas del curso incluyen, entre otros, ambiente y conflicto, derechos humanos, género, y conflicto y paz.
Este año, el grupo de estudiantes de la Javeriana estuvo compuesto de 27 personas, de las cuales 17 eran mujeres.
Además de los cursos que recibieron en el campus de la UPAZ, los estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, donde participaron de un conversatorio con el Juez Portocarrero de Colombia. También estuvieron presentes en el lanzamiento de la más reciente publicación de la UPAZ “América Latina y el Caribe: En una década de incertidumbres”, la cual es un esfuerzo conjunto entre la universidad y la Secretaría General de FLACSO. En el lanzamiento estuvieron presentes la señora Josette Altmann, Secretaria General de FLACSO, el señor Fernando Blasco, Presidente del Consejo de la UPAZ, el Rector Francisco Rojas Aravena y el Decano Juan Carlos Sainz-Borgo.
Como cierre del curso, los estudiantes participaron de una charla y ceremonia con el nuevo Embajador de Colombia en Costa Rica, el señor Angelino Garzón.

Students from Javeriana de Cali complete exchange at UPEACE
February 8, 2019 - San José, Costa Rica. Students from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia, completed today the courses corresponding to the Javeriana Month in the Rodrigo Carazo Campus of the University for Peace (UPEACE) in Costa Rica.
Every year, during the months of January and February, in the framework of cooperation between the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali and the University for Peace, the Mes Javeriano is celebrated at the UPEACE campus in San José, Costa Rica, during which a three-week exchange is offered to students and professors of the Colombian University. The courses represent a total of 6 academic credits, valid for students of the Javeriana University and that may be equally used by these students if they wish to continue their studies at the University for Peace through the options contemplated in the cooperation agreement, such as the Joint Diploma in Human Rights and Culture of Peace or the completion of any of the regular Master's programs offered by UPEACE. The topics of the courses include, among others, environment and conflict, human rights, gender, and conflict and peace.
This year, the group of students from the Javeriana was composed of 27 people, of which 17 were women.
In addition to the courses they received at the UPEACE campus, the students had the opportunity to visit the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, where they participated in a conversation with Judge Portocarrero of Colombia. They were also present at the launch of UPEACE’s most recent publication "Latin America and the Caribbean: In a Decade of Uncertainties," which is a joint effort between the university and the General Secretariat of FLACSO. Present at the book launch were Ms. Josette Altmann, FLACSO Secretary General, Mr. Fernando Blasco, President of the UPEACE Council, Rector Francisco Rojas Aravena and Dean Juan Carlos Sainz-Borgo.
At the end of the course, the students participated in a seminar and ceremony with the new Ambassador of Colombia to Costa Rica, Mr. Angelino Garzón.
